Disney Fantasy Now In Dry-Dock

Yesterday, April 29th, the Disney Fantasy left Port Canaveral and headed to Freeport, Bahamas for an 18 night dry dock.  This is the Fantasy's first dry dock, and they are changing quite a few things.  Let's take a look!

1.  Sweet on You

Sweet on You is a specialty ice cream shop that will probably take over the Arr-Cade.  It will have a wider selection of flavors than Eye-Scream, but it will probably be at an extra cost.  Sweet on You will have ice cream, gelato, toppings, candy, and much more!

2.  Oceaneer Club

The Oceaneer Club, the kids-only area, will also get some cool new areas.  Replacing the Explorer Pod comes the Star Wars Command Post, similar to the Dream's Millennium Falcon.  It will have Star Wars themed activities, and maybe some character visits.  Since the Fantasy has Star Wars Days at Sea, I think there will be some extra-special activities here.  With the new movie, Star Wars Episode VIII coming later this year, this is sure to be a popular spot.  Another new addition to the Oceaneer Club is the Marvel Super Hero Academy.  Here, kids will learn about how to be a hero from none other than the heroes themselves!  There will also be immersive games and exciting Marvel activities.

3.  Tiffany & Co.
For the first time on any Disney Cruise ship...  A Non-Disney Store!  Tiffany & Co. will be where the Vista Gallery was (The Vista Gallery will be moved to Deck 2).  Guests will now be able to purchase fancy jewelry onboard.  I'm guessing they'll at least have something with Mickey or Minnie on it.
The Dry Dock will be finished by May 17th, with the first sailing a 3-Night cruise with 2 stops at Castaway Cay.  After the renovation, the Fantasy will be better than ever.  It looks like a good summer for the Disney Fantasy!

This cruise was my favorite one we have taken so far.  It was really FANTAStic!

Official First Post!

Welcome to the blog!  This is a blog about all things Disney Cruise Line, from a kid's perspective!  There will be news, trip reports, photos, and more!  I have been on 4 Disney cruises, and am going on 2 more.  There are a lot of websites that describe things from an adult's perspective, but this is only from a kid!  Onboard the ships, adults are only allowed inside the youth areas during open house, but kids are allowed whenever the club is open!  Sometimes, the open houses are crowded with both kids and adults, so it can be hard to get good information about what happens when it's not open house.  If a kid has never been on a Disney Cruise but wants to know about the kids only areas, an adult wouldn't be the best choice, but asking a kid who has been inside the clubs would be a great choice!
It looks like a long journey ahead!
I can't wait to share my love of DCL with everyone, and making a blog sounds like the perfect way to do that!  I hope you enjoy the Disney Cruise Line Kid!
